Learning to swim
There was a time when my father used to take me to the swimming pool every summer. There were two pools at the place, one for the kids and one for others. I used to always want to go to the kid's pool, but my father used to always pull me into the bigger one, even though I was just a three year old. He used to equip me with tubes, but the sheer enormity of the pool used scare me. I used to frequently break out into loud chants of 'bachao, bachao', sometimes to the entrainment of the onlookers.
Those days reminded an important analogy to life. The world is like a giant pool, and there are every possibility that we may drown. But unless we give up the fear of drowning, we never learn how to swim. Obviously, your parents, your well wishers equip you well, but unless the shackles of fear are broken, the water keeps pulling you down. And no matter how well you swim, we all have limited time here. Some people just come to wet themselves, some to burn their calories, some to enjoy a few matches of water polo and rather some to excel in swimming. So as long as you are here, enjoy the swim!!
